SKYWARN™ is a weather spotter program sponsored by the National Weather Service.  Detailed info about the program may be found HERE.  Spotter Training is typically held in the Spring.  Click on ME for the training schedule.

ARES® is a field organization of the American Radio Relay League.  While SKYWARN™ is not officially part of the ARES® program, many volunteers are active with both programs.  Unlike ARES®, SKYWARN™ is not an all-hazards response mechanism; SKYWARN is limited to severe weather¹.

In our area, the SKYWARN™ program is overseen by Gary Garnet at the NWS Forecast Office in Cleveland, Ohio.
